Calm down strategies
Social Emotional Development is an essential skill for preschoolers. If children are unable to learn effective ways to control and regulate their emotions now, then they will likely develop ineffective habits that can impact them for the rest of their lives. This is why I believe that it is so important to teach preschoolers strategies that they can use to calm their bodies when they are experiencing big feelings. You can work together with your child at home to practice some of these strategies.
Tip: It is actually more effective (and easier) to practice these skills when your child is already calm! Then, your child will be more likely to remember and use them when he needs them later.
