Hello Preschool Families!
I hope you are all doing well. I miss seeing you at school each day. We only have a few more weeks left this school year. I know some of you might be wondering about preschool graduation. We are currently exploring options for what we can do and how we could make it work. As soon as we have something figured out, I will let you know! Seesaw: New activities have been added to Seesaw for the week. Please try to submit at least 5 posts this week, if possible. Remember, posts can be in response to assigned activities on Seesaw, worksheets that your child complete (that were sent home or that you bought/printed), optional activities listed on here, or any other activities your child completes this week! YouTube Channel: If you have not done so already, please check out my YouTube channel. I am posting Bible lessons, read alouds, and letter review lessons. This week, I will also be adding a read aloud that corresponds with one of the assigned activities on Seesaw. Please don't feel obligated to watch every single video. Pick and choose videos based on your child's interest level and engagement. Zoom Share Circle Meetings: We will continue with our Zoom share circle meetings again this week. I will send out an email shortly with the details you will need to join our meeting. Now that we are doing an activity on the dry erase board each meeting, your child can copy this down on a dry erase board or piece of paper at home! If your child would like to do this, please join the meeting with these materials ready. Parent Teacher Conferences: We will be doing video conferences via Zoom. I will post a sign up sheet later this week. Once you select a time, I will send you an invitation via Zoom for the conferences. Because Zoom can be a little slow to get working, I will have a ten minute break between each conference to ensure that we stay on time. Additional Resources/Activities:
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Blessings, Ms. Barker

Hello Preschool Families,
I hope you enjoyed your spring break! We will be continuing remote learning this week. Seesaw: This week's assignments have been posted to Seesaw. I included 11 this week because I've noticed that some of you have been flying through assignments and wanted to provide you with more options in case you're interested. You still only need to choose 5 to complete this week. Please submit whatever you are able to. Some submissions are better than none. I am using this information to enter into TS GOLD so that we have data to discuss at conferences. Also, if you child is on scholarship, then submitting assignments is extra important. I am required to show the scholarship committee that learning is still taking place. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please reach out to me right away. Bible Lessons: These will be posted to YouTube by tomorrow at the latest. I will email you as soon as they are available for viewing. Zoom Share Circle Meetings: We will be having our Zoom share circle meetings again this week. I will send out an email later today with the information you will need to join the meeting. The share circle will look a little different this time. After everyone has had a chance to share once, we will pause so that I can ask the class a question. Students will help me sound out the words for the question as I write it on the board. If you are available during this time to help unmute your child, that would be helpful. If not, then I can walk back to the computer to unmute your child if he/she has an answer. After we write the question, each child will be given the opportunity to answer the question. Then, we will count how many answered in each category. Finally, we will talk about which answer has the most and which has the least. Then, we will continue with each child's second turn in the share circle. This activity will allow us to hit both literacy and math standards while we are meeting together via Zoom. Additional Ideas for This Week: In case you are looking for some ways you can stay busy at home, here are a few other ideas you could try:
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Blessings, Ms. Barker No assignments this week. Feel free to do any previous assignments you haven’t tried or to post in the journal any fun or academic activities you do this week. Enjoy your spring break. :)
I will log into Seesaw at least once daily to go over submissions in case you have any missing assignments you'd like to get caught up on. New assignments will be posted next week! Blessings, Ms Barker Hello Preschool Families!
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy at home right now. Seesaw: Seesaw assignments for the week will be posted this morning. Please do your best to submit 5 posts for the week. If you'd like to submit more, that is great! We will not have any assignments next week (scheduled spring break), but you may use this time to get caught up on any past assignments or you can submit extras during this time if you choose. I'll try to log in at least once a day to check submissions over break. Parent Teacher Conferences: With schools being closed through April now, it is looking more and more likely that we will doing parent teacher conferences via video chat. I will make my final decision the last week of April and send out necessary sign up sheets at that time. Weekly Bible Lessons: Weekly Bible lessons can be found on my YouTube channel. The videos are fairly short (most only a couple minutes long and almost all under five minutes). You can also choose to subscribe to my channel and then you'll be updated for each new video. Zoom Share Circles: We will be conducting Zoom Share Circles again this week for each of the classes. They will be the same day of week/time as the previous two. An email will be sent out later today with details for joining these meetings. These meetings are completely optional, but they do help the students remain connected during this time apart. If you are able to make the meeting, I would highly recommend giving it a try. Important Note: If you have not already done so, please inform me of if you would like your child's seesaw posts shared with his/her class or not. Currently, your child's posts are visible only to the teacher and you. If you'd like me to share them with the rest of the class, I will, but I will need your permission. Sharing them with the class allows classmates to like and comment on the posts. This is another way for students to stay connected while we are not in the classroom. Activities/Resources to Consider this Week: If you're looking for some ideas to stay entertained this week, I have a few more ideas for you!
I hope you enjoy these activities! Feel free to post any of the fun activities you choose to do to Seesaw to share with the class! Blessings, Ms. Barker |
